Most SMP plans at NPM use more than one session, often two to four, with each session lasting about 2 to 4 hours. Layering in stages lets the pigment settle, so the practitioner can adjust density and shade instead of doing everything at once.
Why stages
Pigment looks different once the skin heals. A first session builds the base, and later sessions add density and correct any uneven areas. Published SMP technique papers describe this staged approach.
Spacing
Sessions are usually spaced to let the skin heal in between. NPM will give you your own timeline.
What changes the number
The size of the area, your skin, scars and the look you want all affect how many sessions you need.
Questions
Can it be done in one day?
Usually not; staged work tends to look more natural.
Will I know the total cost first?
Yes, NPM explains the plan and price before you start.
