Common hair-loss myths in Malaysia
Answer first

Several common beliefs do not hold up well: washing often does not cause hair loss for most people, wearing a cap does not cause baldness, and no single food regrows hair. Pattern thinning is strongly linked to genetics and hormones, while sudden shedding often has a trigger worth finding.

Myth: washing causes hair loss

Hair you see in the drain was usually already shedding. A study on washing frequency did not find harm for most people.

Myth: caps cause baldness

Clean, loose caps are not a known cause. Very tight styles over years are a different issue.

Myth: one food fixes it

Research supports a balanced diet; deficiencies can matter, but no single food regrows hair.

Questions

Does cutting hair make it grow thicker?

No. It changes how the ends look, not the follicle.

Does stress cause hair loss?

Major stress can trigger temporary shedding.
