Biotin: who really needs it?
Answer first

Biotin is a B vitamin. A review found that reports of hair improvement were mostly in people with a biotin deficiency or certain conditions; true deficiency is uncommon. High-dose biotin can also interfere with some blood tests, so tell your doctor or lab before tests.

Deficiency

Can occur with some medicines, genetic conditions or very restricted diets.

Lab tests

Biotin can distort thyroid and heart test results. Mention it before blood tests.

Questions

Is there biotin in Folli-Activ?

Yes, as one of 10 ingredients.

Should I stop before a blood test?

Ask your doctor; many advise pausing for a few days.

Studies mentioned

These studies looked at ingredients or general approaches. None of them tested our treatments or products, so they are background, not proof.
